Mildred Eva Boney Matthis, 98 of 2312 Riley Road, Kinston NC died March 5, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 9, 2026, at Queen Street United Methodist Church with the Reverend Kim Lail and the Reverend Karl Grant officiating. In reference to the media release from Operation Wintergreen, detectives from the Kinston Police Department have worked around the clock to process, inventory, and document the items collected during the execution of the search warrants. On March 5, 2026, at approximately 1:18 a.m., KPD A-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on E. New Bern Road for motor vehicle violations. Officers identified the driver as 41-year-old Crystal Fischer of Lenoir County.
