KPD: Operation Wintergreen – Seized Property and Search Locations

In reference to the media release from Operation Wintergreen, detectives from the Kinston Police Department have worked around the clock to process, inventory, and document the items collected during the execution of the search warrants. This was an extensive and detailed process that required a coordinated effort from patrol officers, investigators, evidence technicians, and administrative staff.

Due to the volume of currency seized during this operation, detectives also received assistance from a nearby banking institution to accurately count and verify the total amount of U.S. currency recovered.

The following is a comprehensive summary of the items seized and the locations that were searched as part of this investigation.

Items Seized

Total THC - 110.99 lbs.

Total Khat - 7.84 lbs.

Total Money - $2,347,030.26

Total Firearms – 11

In total, 34 search warrants were executed throughout the City of Kinston and surrounding areas as part of this coordinated enforcement effort.

Currently, four individuals have been arrested, and additional charges and arrests are expected as detectives continue to analyze the evidence collected during this operation.
