SEVEN SPRINGS - Shortly after 3 p.m., today, Lenoir County 911 received a call reporting a home on fire on Tony’s Lane in Seven Springs. Firefighters from Deep Run, Sandy Bottom and Albertson fire departments responded and found heavy smoke and flames visible from a double-wide mobile home.

US Army (Ret) Chief Warrant Officer Dana “Gene” Benson, 80, passed away on February 27, 2024, in Kinston, NC. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11am at Edwards Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at 2pm at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.
