A car show is planned for June 17 at Lenoir Community College to benefit 2-year-old Colby Clayton of La Grange who has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive Retinoblastoma, cancer of the eye. The benefit will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with prizes awarded at 2:30 p.m.
A male inmate currently being held at Kinston’s W.E. Billy Smith Detention Center and a Rocky Mount woman not in the jail have had warrants sworn against them for felony conspiracy to smuggle narcotics into the facility, among other charges.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Hoover and Pastor Don Causey officiating. First National Bank of Kinston is the Putting Contest Sponsor of this year’s 22nd annual Lenoir Community College Golf Classic on Thursday, May 18, at the Kinston Country Club. This event has raised more than $600,000 toward student scholarships at LCC since its inception. Nearly 130 golfers played in the tournament last year, and the Foundation is expecting an even better attendance this year.
