Lenoir Hospital Foundation recently provided $95,387 for 2022 funding to support UNC Lenoir Health Care projects. “Our goal is to enhance the work of our hospital. We select projects that are meaningful to the care we provide in our own community”, said Margaret Williams, Foundation Board Chairman.
Kids On Stage is set to perform Nickelodeon’s “The SpongeBob Musical” June 17, 2022 through June 19, 2022, at the Greene County Wellness Center. Patrons have four different opportunities to see this show, tickets are $10. June 17 at 7:00 pm, June 18 at 2:00 pm, June 18 at 7:00 pm, and June 19 at 3:00 pm. Shawn Mayers (51), of Kinston, was already facing possession of firearm by felon charges, felony indecent liberties with child, and misdemeanor sexual battery in Lenoir County. On June 13, 2022 in Pitt County, Mayers, who owns Mayers Realty in Winterville, was charged with felony solicit prostitution minor, felony second degree forcible rape, felony sex act: sub parent/custodian, and felony incest.

At this time, the storm prediction center has upgraded the region to a 'slight risk' for severe storms, but if confidence increases that this outbreak will indeed occur, later upgrades may be necessary. Strong damaging winds of 60 to 80 mph, large hail, very heavy downpours with localized flooding, along with very frequent lightning, may all occur if storms develop Tuesday.
Juneteenth is a shortened version of “June Nineteenth.” This date in 1865 marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, TX, to take control of the state and make all enslaved people freed. “Juneteenth” is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday.

La Grange - With full confidence of salvation through Jesus Christ, Thomas Randal “Randy” Herring, Jr. placed his hand in the nail-scarred hand of his Savior as he stepped from this life into glory. A service to honor and remember Randy’s life will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022. The family will receive friends following the service.
