Known for its stirring choruses and unforgettable melodies, Part 1 celebrates the prophecy and birth of Jesus Christ, making it a perfect fit for the Christmas season.
The Kinston Police Department’s A Squad and C Squad have continued their investigation into this incident and have identified two additional suspects: Ricky Shadding Jr. (42, of Black Creek, NC) and Meaghan Reason (34, of Morganton, NC).

On April 11, 2025, officers from the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad attempted a traffic stop on Macon Street. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled, initiating a pursuit. The chase ended when the driver crashed into a fence. She then fled on foot into nearby woods, taking an 8-year-old passenger with her.
A La Grange man is in jail without bond after being in possession of a stolen firearm and drugs while on probation.
In a heartwarming and inspirational evening that celebrated the very best of Lenoir County Public Schools, South Lenoir High School’s Tara Carroll was named the 2025-2026 LCPS Teacher of the Year during the district's annual banquet. The announcement capped a night filled with gratitude, celebration, and powerful stories from educators whose dedication continues to shape the future of LCPS students.
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. Snow Hill, NC— On April 14, 2025, Greene County Schools is proud to recognize Heather Davis from Greene Early College, one of its most dedicated and passionate educators, as this year’s Greene County Schools Teacher of the Year. Dr. Rodney McNeil, Executive Director of Human Capital and incoming Superintendent, along with Dr. Taylor Moore, Principal of Greene Early College, had the privilege of announcing this year's winner with a visit to her classroom.
Jones County Emergency Services and the Jones County Fire & EMS Association hosted an Emergency Services Appreciation Dinner to recognize the dedication and bravery of local fire and EMS personnel. Among those honored was James Mercer, a local good Samaritan who heroically pulled a victim from a burning home.

On April 10, 2025, officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad were flagged down by a victim of a hit-and-run incident near the intersection of E. Vernon Avenue and Highway 11. The victim reported that their vehicle had been struck by another vehicle, which then fled the scene. The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the suspect vehicle.
The Lenoir County Health Department has received confirmation that a case of pertussis has been identified in the county. Pertussis is also known as whooping cough.
