Tara Carroll named 2025-2026 Lenoir County Public Schools Teacher of the Year

In a heartwarming and inspirational evening that celebrated the very best of Lenoir County Public Schools, South Lenoir High School’s Tara Carroll was named the 2025-2026 LCPS Teacher of the Year during the district's annual banquet. The announcement capped a night filled with gratitude, celebration, and powerful stories from educators whose dedication continues to shape the future of LCPS students. 

Snow Hill Primary announces "Terrific Kid" awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards.  Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.  On Fridays, these students are presented with an award and are congratulated for their hard work.  Below are Snow Hill Primary's last Terrific Kid Awards!

Greene County Schools Honors County Teacher of the Year

Snow Hill, NC— On April 14, 2025, Greene County Schools is proud to recognize Heather Davis from Greene Early College, one of its most dedicated and passionate educators, as this year’s Greene County Schools Teacher of the Year. Dr. Rodney McNeil, Executive Director of Human Capital and incoming Superintendent, along with Dr. Taylor Moore, Principal of Greene Early College, had the privilege of announcing this year's winner with a visit to her classroom.

Lenoir County man arrested for DWI, assault, following series of hit-and-run crashes

On April 10, 2025, officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad were flagged down by a victim of a hit-and-run incident near the intersection of E. Vernon Avenue and Highway 11. The victim reported that their vehicle had been struck by another vehicle, which then fled the scene. The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the suspect vehicle.
