We will be closing our restaurant on Saturday, December 30, 2023 for a major remodel project. Michael James Ward, age 68, of Kinston, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Pruitt Health. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Rick Vernon officiating. The family will be receiving friends at home.
In early November, Ricardo Arias, 7th Grade Math Teacher at Greene County Middle School was honored by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) as the Outstanding Secondary Teacher of 2022-2023.

Raleigh, N.C. - The state’s seasonally adjusted October 2023 unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, unchanged from September’s revised rate. The national rate increased 0.1 of a percentage point to 3.9 percent.
The Boy Scouts of America donated Thanksgiving dinners to the Kinston Community Health Center for the second year. For many of us who love Thanksgiving, the good food, and being with family and friends, some individuals and families cannot.
