SECU Presents Scholarships to LCC Students

State Employees Credit Union recently presented the State Employees Credit Union Foundation Scholarship to Lenoir Community College students Marlen Ramirez-Ortiz of Deep Run, and Kenady Yates of Kinston. The SECU Foundation Scholarship, also known as, the “People Helping People” scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship (per student) awarded to students who best exemplify the membership philosophy the of credit union. Students are awarded $1,250 per semester for each semester they are enrolled at LCC as full-time students. Pictured left to right, are Dr. Terry Humphrey, Advisory Board Member for SECU Kinston-Vernon Avenue Branch; Rhonda Parker, Chairperson of Member Advisory for SECU Kinston-Vernon Avenue Branch; Marlen Ramirez-Ortiz of Deep Run; Kenady Yates of Kinston; Jerrie Barwick, Sr. Financial Service Officer at Kinston-Vernon Avenue Branch; and Lara Lang-Tribula, Senior Vice President/District Manager for SECU.
