The Honor Society for women educators promotes excellence in education and personal and professional growth of women educators. By providing graduate scholarships to members, the organization emphasizes leadership development for its more than 50,000 members in 17 countries.

On Saturday, over $12,000 in scholarships and other gifts were given to the Distinguished Young Women of Lenoir County Class of 2023. The Distinguished Young Woman of Lenoir County program is part of a nationwide effort to recognize, reward, and encourage excellence and education among all young people. Eight senior girls competed for the scholarships.
In a show of support for nursing students at Lenoir Community College, UNC Health Lenoir has launched a new scholarship opportunity. Students entering or currently in the nursing program for both Registered Nursing (RN) and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) can apply and interview for a partial or full scholarship. Student attributes include financial need, drive and compassion to care for patients and their families, and scholastic ability and success.
On August 4, 2022, the Golden LEAF Board of Directors awarded $445,582 in funding to support projects through the Open Grants Program and $1,382,782.18 to support rural broadband to community anchor institutions through MCNC. The Golden LEAF Board approved $127,534 in funding for the NC Rural Center to administer the Rural Internship Initiative as part of the Golden LEAF Scholarship Program. The Golden LEAF Board also awarded $1,365,000 in funding for projects through the Flood Mitigation Program.

Greene Early College held their annual award day ceremony where they announced the recipients of four different scholarships. Yahir Ponce, Dorien Sutton, Lorien Stocks, Madia Harris, and Monejah Rouse, together, received a total of $18,000.
