The Kinston License Plate Agency (LPA) will open a temporary office while repairs continue to its permanent location at the Kinston Plaza Shopping Center which was damaged by a tornado on June 22. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving Rakiem Moore pointing a firearm at an individual. Moore left the area prior to officers arriving.

The Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue was dispatched to 1006 Clifton Terrace at 8:45 AM, on September 8th, in reference to a Structure Fire. Kinston Police Officers and Kinston Fire crews arrived quickly to the scene. Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue, had a rapid knock down and control of the fire.
A 42-year-old Kinston man has been arrested on sex offense charges against a 13-year-old girl. On Sept. 3, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office received information from a concerned parent about alleged inappropriate behavior between an adult male and a juvenile female. The LCSO investigation led the agency to press charges against Virgil Todd Chase for attempted statutory sex and indecent liberties with a minor.
