LCC to Debut Matilda the Musical

Matilda The Musical will be debuting on the Turner Stage at Lenoir Community College July 14-16 and 21-23. The Roald Dahl musical centers on Matilda Wormwood, a young girl who enjoys reading books and has psychokinetic powers. She overcomes many obstacles driven by her uncaring family and heinous headmistress. 

Municipal Election filing starts Friday at noon

For the upcoming 2023 Municipal Election in Greene County and Lenoir County, filing opens on Friday, July 7, 2023, and ends at noon Friday, July 21, 2023, Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The seats currently held by the following elected officials will be on the ballot this coming fall.

The bipartisan safer communities act continues to serve as a model for dealmaking in Washington

One year ago, Congress took an important step to protect our rights as well as our lives. In response to rising violence across the country, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) was passed and signed into law. The law effectively balances crucial Second Amendment protections with needed investments and safeguards to help mitigate the disturbing trends we’ve seen in violent crime since the pandemic.

The Friends of the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library holds the "I Love My Library" raffle to raise money to fund enhancements in library programming. Hawkins used his winnings to purchase season tickets to ECU Pirates football.
