The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Kings BBQ and Chicken 

910 W Vernon Avenue, Kinston 

Date: 5/30

Score: 90.5

Observations: 

No vomit/diarrhea clean up plan in place. 

Several paper towel dispensers are not dispensing on demand. 

Many of the pans/utensils still visibly soiled or have greasy film. 

Most items in the walk in exceeded 7 day hold time. 

Flies present. 

Wiping cloths in pan with bleach water had greatly exceeded concentration. 

Cup in sugar had handle submerged. 

Counter mount can opener is very soiled. 

Black food carts, hot hold cabinets, food sink, all shelving, walk-in freezer shelving, steamer, fryers, steam tables, hoods, floors, walls, ceiling, and floor tiles need additional cleaning. 

Dumpster lid open. 

Light bulbs need to be replaced. 

Mama Nem's Legacy Grill

Observations: 

A container of chicken salad was not date marked. 

Food service staff cannot wear watches, bracelets, or rings. 

A wet wiping cloth was laying on sandwich board. 

A little additional cleaning needed in lower 2 door prep fridge and on stainless steel behind fry area.

Observations: 

Employee Health Policy missing a foodborne illness. 

Establishment lacking vomit and diarrhea plan. 

Jewelry and ineffective hair restraints observed. 

Wet cloths used under cutting boards. 

True Freezer is "over icing".

Person in charge lacks certification for food protection manager. 

Establishment lacking vomit and diarrhea plan.

Colanders stacked wet. 

Penn walk-in has a leak internally. 

Light intensity in the back of walk-in has 3-8 foot candles. Should be 10 foot.

Observations: 

Middle floor drain in prep area observed backing up after 3-comp sink basin emptied. 

Receptacle top doors open. 

Ceilings in prep area not smooth and easily cleanable.

Observations: 

The managers Food Protection Manager Certification has expired. 

Food service staff need to wear proper hair restraints and no jewelry. 

Clean wiping cloths stored in a green bucket with sanitizer is too strong. 

A piece of duct tape is on the ice machine storage compartment exterior. 

Top of dish machine and dough prep machine need to be cleaned. 

Floor tiles are worn or broken throughout kitchen. 

Some areas of ceiling peeling.
