According to the Monday 630am Briefing on Tropical Storm Isaias from the National Weather Service, the storm has sustained 70 mph winds and all of Eastern NC continues under a Tropical Storm Watch or Warning. The most likely time of arrival of Tropical Storm Force Winds is Monday night, however, we could see Tropical Storm Force Winds as early as Monday evening. All of Eastern NC has a potential for tornadoes to occur before and during the storm.

North Carolina is preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Isaias with plans including safeguards for COVID-19. Governor Roy Cooper and State Emergency Management leaders updated the public today, urging them to track the storm and prepare for wind and rain.
From the National Weather Service: Isaias has strengthened overnight into a hurricane. Our confidence has increased that we will be impacted by Isaias, but our confidence still remains low especially with regards to intensity and timing.
The parental reaction to Lenoir County Public Schools reopening plan has sparked a planned protest and an online petition. There is also support for their decision.

The Lenoir County Board of Education decided Monday night that all students will begin the 2020-2021 school year as remote learners and, after the first nine weeks, the district’s youngest students could transition to in-person instruction provided certain public health metrics are met.
With actions to slow the spread of COVID-19 beginning to have impact, Governor Roy Cooper is doubling down on prevention measures with Executive Order 153 stopping the sale of alcoholic drinks in restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries at 11 pm. North Carolina bars that are currently closed will remain closed. This order will take effect Friday, July 31.
The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center has begun to issue advisories on a disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean. This disturbance is expected to become a tropical storm tonight or Wednesday.
