Durham, NC, June 6, 2025 – Cypress Creek Renewables is pleased to announce that two Lenoir County students were selected to receive a 2025 Energizing Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship award: Kaitlyn pictured with Manager of External Affairs for Cypress Creek Renewables, Mike Storch.
The Lenoir County Public Schools Class of 2025 was celebrated in five graduation ceremonies over the past month, culminating Saturday with nearly 600 students receiving diplomas from South Lenoir High School, Kinston High and North Lenoir High.
The following students have been named to the President’s List and Dean’s List at Lenoir Community College for Spring Semester 2025.
LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Kaitlin Beratto of Kinston, NC, has been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2025 semester at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
ATLANTA, GA -- Cormya Baker of Kinston (28504) was named to the Spring 2025 Dean's List at Georgia State University.

Lenoir County’s Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recognized outstanding beginning teachers in their third year of teaching in May with the Buzzing Bee BT Award.
Nearly 600 seniors will reach the milestone that is high school graduation next week at commencement exercises scheduled at four LCPS schools. Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2025 at the county’s three traditional high schools will be held in succession on Saturday, June 7. Lenoir Community College Culinary Arts students took their skills beyond the classroom this week by volunteering at Mary’s Kitchen in Kinston, helping to serve hot meals to community members in need.
Western Carolina University congratulates more than 2,900 students named to the Chancellor's List for Spring 2025. To qualify for this honor, students must achieve a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Students named to the Chancellor's list are also named to the Dean's List.

In his eight years as a social studies teacher at EB Frink Middle School – his entire career in education – Chadwick Stokes has won five statewide awards for excellence in teaching. With the most recent, the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies honored Stokes as the state’s Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year for 2025.
RALEIGH – Thirty-one North Carolina students have been selected recipients of 2025 N.C. State Fair Youth Livestock Scholarships, Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler announced.
The Lenoir County Schools Association of Educational Office Professionals (LCSAEOP) gathered last Thursday for its annual banquet, a celebration of service, scholarship, and excellence across the district. The event featured the installation of new officers, recognition of student scholarship recipients, and the presentation of two of the organization’s highest honors: Educational Office Professional of the Year and Administrator of the Year.

NASHVILLE, TN (05/15/2025)-- Belmont University recently released the Dean's List for the spring 2025 semester. Approximately 47% of the University's 6,912 undergraduate students qualified for the spring 2025 Dean's List, including Luke Bryan (La Grange).
