They were teachers long before they began their teaching careers, and that fact may help explain why the three of them are finalists for the title of LCPS Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023.

The three women – Jordan Hudson of Northwest Elementary School, Pauline Lindo of EB Frink Middle School and Candace Tilghman-Rouse of Northeast Elementary School – were chosen Thursday to advance in the Teacher of the Year selection process by a panel of judges who interviewed all 17 educators named as their school’s Teacher of the Year.

Bobby Taylor of Greene Ridge Racquet Club (GRRC) rejoins the Lenoir Community College Foundation this year as a celebrity dealer at Casino Night. The event will be held on February 25 from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Lenoir County Shrine Club. Tables open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from the event benefit the LCC scholarship program.

The love of baseball brought Zack Kramer of Florida to Lenoir Community College where he plays outfield for the LCC Lancers. He’s played baseball his whole life and he wanted to continue his career at the collegiate level. His older brother played for a junior college (JUCO) in Virginia and had a great experience there, so LCC seemed to be the right fit.
