The Boy Scouts of America donated Thanksgiving dinners to the Kinston Community Health Center for the second year. For many of us who love Thanksgiving, the good food, and being with family and friends, some individuals and families cannot. But because of the Food Lion Feeds Program, and VFW Post 2771, 15 families will be able to enjoy a meal together.
On November 16, 2021, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing the conveyance of the shirt factory property to the Kinston Community Health Center (KCHC) to construct a new medical facility. Since that time, KCHC has been conducting pre-development in preparation for the new medical facility, which includes financial planning, engaging lending partners, and architectural planning.
Once complete, this $20 million health center will result in expanded services, as well as an expected 41 new jobs and a 3,000-person increase in the number of patients served by KCHC annually.
While it might not make them smile, a special report card going home with hundreds of LCPS elementary and middle school students this school year will help them smile.

The Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting event for the Kinston Community Pharmacy located at 324 North Queen Street.
To better meet patients’ needs, Kinston Community Health Center, Inc., established an in-house full-service pharmacy located within the health center at 324 N. Queen Street in Kinston. Dr. Lin Dawson’s (former New England Patriot and Kinston High School standout) daughter, Jelyse Dawson is teaming up with the Kinston Community Health Center to increase health outcomes this Saturday at the Community Health & Wellness Fair in downtown Kinston.
The new addition will be Kinston Community Pharmacy, the pharmacy will open for business on August 8th. The new pharmacy will be located at 324 N Queen St. Suite A in Kinston North Carolina. Our hours of operations will be Monday - Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm
What is a conscious community? One would define a conscious community as a unified awareness of successes and challenges with respect to the expression of all in need. Living in a conscious community would promote wellness, equality and empowerment of individuals and families.
This free program launches in Eastern North Carolina offering virtual wellness classes for women ages 18 and up with various ability levels. Classes are taught by certified and licensed professionals including cardio, chair exercise, dance, mindfulness, life coaching, strength, and yoga.
On November 11, 2021, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Pearson Park in Kinston, up to 50 participants aged five through eight can participate in a Bicycle Safety Rodeo.
Kinston Community Health Center (KCHC) is holding a resource fair Saturday, August 7th from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M., open to the whole community. It will be held in the KCHC parking lot. The KCHC will also be providing free dental screenings, COVID vaccines, and COVID testing.
Wednesday morning on July 14, 2021, Kinston Community Health Center unveiled a brand new mobile care unit. The vehicle is a 38 foot 2020 Forest River Georgetown motorcoach designed by Mission Mobile of Greensboro, NC. The mobile unit was outfitted to meet various medical needs.
In May, an important survey will be circulating in Lenoir County. UNC Lenoir Health Care, the Kinston Community Heath Center, the Lenoir County Health Department and the Lenoir County Alliance for a Healthy Community are asking residents of Lenoir County to complete the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
