Man Arrested After Threats to Dispatchers
On February 28, 2026, KPD’s A-Squad responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Washington Avenue in reference to a 911 call involving 43-year-old Justin Church. Officers had responded to the residence multiple times throughout the day.
While officers were on scene, they were advised that Church had made threats toward Lenoir County Communications dispatchers during a phone call. As officers were gathering additional information from dispatch, Church spit on officers. He was immediately taken into custody without further incident.
Church was transported to the Lenoir County Jail and charged with the following:
- Resist, Obstruct, Delay (ROD)
- Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
- Misuse of 911
- Communicating Threats
At the time of this release, Church remains in custody at the Lenoir County Jail.
