TRENTON — The Jones County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the county’s fiscal year 2026-27 budget ordinance during its regular meeting Monday.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 15 at the Jones County Agricultural Building, 110 Market St. in Trenton.

County Manager Kyle Smith is listed on the agenda for the budget ordinance public hearing. The board is also scheduled to hear several health department-related items from Health Director Adrian Smith, including the fiscal year 2026-27 clinical fee schedule, third-quarter reports, the Board of Health handbook, the environmental health fee schedule and an LCC Reentry Program opioid resolution.

The agenda also includes an update from Clerk of Superior Court Chris Henderson and an introduction of Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Robert Roupe.

Commissioners are also scheduled to discuss a mixed beverage item, presented by County Manager Kyle Smith.

The meeting agenda includes public comment periods near the beginning and end of the meeting. Commissioners are also scheduled to enter closed session under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(3), which allows a public body to meet in closed session to consult with an attorney to preserve attorney-client privilege.

The board may take action on items listed on the agenda.
