Bruce Moody July 26, 1944 – March 2, 2026

Kinston-Bruce Alton Moody, 81, passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026. Bruce was born in Lenoir County to the late Alton and Ruby Butts Moody on July 26, 1944. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Moody and Charles Moody.

As owner and operator of a feeder pig farm for about 40 years, Bruce’s love for work made farming the perfect occupation. He lived to work and genuinely loved what he did. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved UNC Chapel Hill basketball as well.

A charter member of the Sandy Bottom Volunteer Fire Department, he helped lay the foundation for an organization that has continuously been devoted to protecting and serving the community in which he lived. His willingness to step forward and serve was a reflection of his generous heart, as he was always willing to help those in need without hesitation.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to service. Committal will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
