KPD VCAT Team Concludes Narcotics Investigation; Two Arrested Following Search Warrant on Ferndale Lane
On February 5, 2026, the Kinston Police Department’s VCAT team concluded a narcotics distribution investigation involving 24-year-old Sincere Teach. With assistance from KPD’s Investigations Division, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 1100 block of Ferndale Lane.
Upon entry, officers located Sincere Teach, 24-year-old Cardiaa Koonce, and a seven-year-old juvenile inside the residence.
The search resulted in the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution, and three firearms. Both Teach and Koonce were taken into custody and transported for processing.
Sincere Teach was charged with:
- 2 Counts PWISD Marijuana
- 2 Counts Felony Maintaining a Dwelling
- 2 Counts PWISD Controlled Substance Within 1000 Feet of a School
-Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Presence of a Minor
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Cardiaa Koonce was charged with:
- PWISD Marijuana
- Felony Maintaining a Dwelling
- PWISD Controlled Substance Within 1000 Feet of a School
- Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Presence of a Minor
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
