Jeff Radford
October 7, 1956 – January 23, 2026
La Grange- Jeffery Craig Radford, 69, was welcomed home on January 23, 2026. Jeff was born in Wayne County on October 7, 1956, to Daphene Newsome Radford and the late Albert McKinley Radford.
Jeff dedicated 38 years of faithful service to Goldsboro Milling Company, where he worked as a service manager and was a vital part of the company’s operations. His strong work ethic and dependability left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
A lifelong member of The Church at Beston, Jeff was active in the church and its ministries from the time he was born. His faith and commitment to service extended beyond the church, as he was also an active member of the Ruritan Club for many years, always eager to support his community.
Jeff had a deep love for the outdoors and wildlife. He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting, and in later years, he found joy in bringing the outdoors closer to home through trail cameras and feeders. He could spend hours watching deer, birds, and fox squirrels, finding peace and contentment in God’s creation.
Time spent with family and friends brought Jeff his greatest happiness. Every morning started with a call to his mom, and Sunday lunch with the family was enjoyed nearly every week. Saturdays were often spent at Randy Wiggins’ house, enjoying fellowship and laughter with his many friends. Jeff never took for granted any opportunity to be with his family, and his happiest moments were those shared with his grandchildren. Genuinely kind and possessing the biggest heart, Jeff saw the good in everyone and everything. He rarely spoke a harsh word and was a steady, calming presence to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship and visitation on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Susan Bullock Radford; children, Craig Radford and wife Jessica, Tyler Worley and wife Samantha, and Melissa Haraway and husband Josh; grandchildren, Sawyer Radford, Hadley Radford, Ayden Haraway, and Avery Haraway; brother, Steve Radford (Jan Cox); sister, Lisa Ritko (George); nephews, Clayton Radford, and Kyle Radford (Lauren) and their soon-to-arrive son, Eli; and many special friends, including Randy Wiggins and countless others.
