Jeff Carter

July 24, 1967 – August 1, 2026

La Grange-Jeffrey Lynn “Jeff” Carter, 59, passed away on Saturday evening, August 1, 2026. Jeff was born in Wayne County to John Carter and the late Linda Summerlin Carter on July 24, 1967. In addition to his mother, Jeff was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Carter.

Self-employed in construction for most of his life, Jeff was an exceptional carpenter and excelled in finishing sheetrock.

With a strong mind and positive attitude, Jeff carried a strong will that helped him accomplish anything he set his mind to. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, and genuinely loved being around other people. He was a loving son to his parents and a deep support for his family.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to service. Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Brittany Lynn Carter; grandchildren, Sophia and Savannah Williamson; father, John Carter (Kathy); siblings, Pamela Carter, Danny Carter (Mary Rose), and Kimberly C. Edwards (David); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
