Obituary: Gary “Tiny” Radford

La Grange- Gary Wayne “Tiny” Radford, 62, was released from the troubles of this world on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Tiny was born in Wayne County to Carlton and Ercell Jones Radford on April 1, 1963. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Pridgen; his granny, Alice Jones; and several special grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

While Tiny worked hard as a shipping supervisor for Electrolux, he played even harder on the golf course. Keeping his golfing schedule to a mere five days a week, he was a regular fixture at the Southern Wayne golf course. Combining his love of travel with his love of golf, he looked forward to his golf trips with his friends and Chastin twice a year, and anniversaries with Janet were celebrated with a yearly golf trip. A Disney World fan, Tiny took numerous trips through the years with his wife and kids, always looking forward to the Lion King most.

With a great sense of humor, Tiny was known for his one-liners that would have you in stitches within seconds. Sarcastic as the day is long, he brought laughter and joy to those around him. Not only was he humorous; he was compassionate and loving, considering his family to be his greatest blessing.

Tiny’s love of family was displayed through his connections with each of them. His granny Alice was one of his greatest role models growing up, and her excellent cooking was just right for Tiny. Living right beside his parents was the perfect place for him, as he enjoyed seeing them every day. He considered his marriage with Janet as his best win. With the arrival of Carri and Chastin, Tiny made sure to be present for all of their achievements. He coached Chastin’s team in baseball from his preschool days all the way through college, and he was present for all of Carri’s cheer competitions and dance recitals.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside committal will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Tiny is survived by his wife of nearly thirty-seven years, Janet Pridgen Radford; children, Carri Radford and Chastin Radford; brothers, Robert Radford and Daryl Radford and wife, Beth; mother-in-law, Daylon Pridgen; brothers-in-law, Dexter Pridgen and wife Lou Ann, and Maurice Pridgen and wife, Faye; sister-in-law, Vicki Lewis and husband Gene; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
