Lenoir County woman charged with felony negligent child abuse
A 29-year-old Lenoir County woman has been charged with felony negligent child abuse following the death of her 5-year-old son in a structure fire that occurred earlier this year.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and Pink Hill Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 5424 Shady Lane on Jan. 21 for a structure fire in which a juvenile had been severely burned. The child passed away on March 10 due to injuries sustained in the event.
Following an LCSO investigation, Megan Nicole Tyndall was charged and arrested earlier today for felony negligent child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. She was issued a $40,000 secured bond and placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
