Onslow County woman charged with felony possession and drug paraphernalia

An Onslow County woman has been arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

On 6/13/25, Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office SCARR (Street Crimes and Rapid Response) Unit conducted a traffic stop on Ms. Kayla Melton (Age 35 of Jacksonville) in Lenoir County. During the stop, a probable cause search was initiated, which led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Melton was arrested and charged with felony possession of meth, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $2,500 secured bond.
