Linda Schwarz
January 27, 1946 – June 22, 2025
La Grange – Surrounded by the love and care of family and friends, Linda Carol Rhodes Schwarz, 79, peacefully departed this life on June 22, 2025 to be reunited with loved ones who went before her. Linda was born in Lenoir County on January 27, 1946, to the late Raeford Erwin and Winifred Thomas Rhodes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Dimitrious Tsiousious; her sons, Bert Threewitts and Bobby Threewitts; her brother, Ernest Rhodes; and her faithful canine companion, Lexie.
After graduating from East Carolina University, Linda began a career as an accredited records technician. Her keen attention to detail and strong intellect helped her thrive in her profession.
One of a kind and strong in her convictions, Linda was always quick to express her thoughts—and just as willing to listen to yours. She was an exceptional board game player and a formidable opponent in Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. Artistic and creative, she had an unmatched eye for detail. A lover of good music, she was also a talented singer in her own right.
Linda had a deep love for animals and took great joy in the natural beauty of her yard, where birds often visited to enjoy the shade of her trees. Over the years, many stray animals found a loving home with her—she never turned one away if it needed her care.
As the older sibling, Linda took her role seriously. She was always ready with advice for her sister, Debbie—precise and full of detail, just as Linda was. Her love for family was evident in the thoughtful ways she cared for them.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at La Grange Christian Church on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
Linda is survived by her sister, Debbie Harrison and husband, Dennis; nieces, Angie Potter and husband, Chuck and their children, Brandon and Daniel, and Ashlee Rouse and husband, Jordan and their children. Aarlee Micah, Jackson, and Channing; special neighbors, Dzyre Joyner and her family and Tywana Lawson and husband, Corey; and incredible caregivers and friends, Leigh Coombs and Julia Whetstone.
