Kinston police arrest two after disturbance on East Washington Avenue

La Grange Duo Arrested on Drug Charges

On November 17, 2025, at 1:32 a.m., officers with KPD’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 near Queen Street. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, 39-year-old Jennifer Grady of La Grange, and a passenger, 41-year-old Charles Marshburn of La Grange.

During the traffic stop, officers were given consent to search the vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of:

55 dosage units of Alprazolam

4 grams of methamphetamine

1 gram of fentanyl

Drug paraphernalia

Both Grady and Marshburn were arrested without incident and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under secured bonds.

Both subjects were charged with the following:

PWISD Methamphetamine

PWISD Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Conspire to Deliver Methamphetamine

Conspire to Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Felony Possession Schedule II

Maintaining a Vehicle (Felony)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia


On November 16, 2025, KPD’s B-Squad officers responded to a residence on the 600 block of East Washington Avenue for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers attempted to investigate the incident; however, the disturbance continued.

During the investigation, officers determined that one of the involved individuals, 50-year-old Willie Edwards, had an unrelated Order for Arrest. Edwards was taken into custody without incident.

Officers continued their investigation and observed narcotics in plain view inside a vehicle under the control of 34-year-old Aquesha Rouse. When officers attempted to place Rouse under arrest, she actively resisted and assaulted the officers. Rouse was ultimately taken into custody and charged with the following:

- Possession of Schedule VI

- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

- Resisting Arrest

- Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (3 counts)

Both individuals posted bond prior to a booking photo being taken.
