Sheriff Rogers highlights swift deputy response and citizen action
On November 16, 2025, deputies assigned to C Shift responded to a call from a vigilant citizen reporting a male subject walking around a church with a flashlight in the 3700 block of Banks School Road. A deputy arrived on scene within two minutes of dispatch and detained the individual, who was identified as Frankie Lee Tucker Jr. of Kinston. Tucker was taken into custody on an active parole violation warrant.
Tucker had been arrested on November 12, 2025, by the Kinston Police Department for attempting to break into motor vehicles. He received a $1,500 secured bond and was released on November 13, 2025, with the assistance of a bail bondsman.
According to public records, Tucker was released from prison on parole in November 2025. His criminal history includes convictions for breaking and entering motor vehicles (22 cases), first-degree burglary, felony drug possession, felony larceny, felony probation violation, and additional offenses across multiple counties including Wake, Nash, Rockingham, Moore, Lee, Harnett, and Lenoir.
In October 2024, Tucker was involved in a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle incident at a private residence on Will Baker Road. The property owner confronted Tucker inside a vehicle, believed Tucker was armed, and discharged a firearm, striking him. No charges were filed against the property owner. Tucker was charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle in that case.
Tucker is currently incarcerated at the Lenoir County Jail under no bond for violating parole in connection with the Kinston Police Department arrest.
Sheriff Rogers commends the citizen who made the call at the church on Banks School Road and the swift actions of his deputies.
