Louise Davis Harper of Woodington Township passed away peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Magnolia cottage where she spent the last season of her long, beautiful life of 101 years. Funeral service will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, beginning at 1:00p.m., with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Whatley presiding. Drug Task Force Investigation Leads to Search Warrant and Arrest
The Kinston-Lenoir Drug Task Force identified a pattern of organized criminal activity involving a residence in the 300 block of Lenoir Street in La Grange. As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Sue Griffin Haddock, 79, passed away at UNC Health Care in Kinston, NC, on July 21, 2026. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 3 PM, at Edwards Funeral Home in Kinston, NC. The family will receive friends thirty minutes before the service.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why students are allowed to spit on staff or curse staff with little to no consequences.
