The Regional Industry & Manufacturing Expo (RIME) successfully welcomed more than 400 students from across Eastern North Carolina for a day of hands-on career exploration and industry engagement. The event brought together students, educators, and employers to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available throughout the region.

Kenneth “Ken” Eugene Davis, 78, passed away peacefully at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Thursday, April 16, 2026. A memorial service to honor Ken’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at La Grange United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Grider and Rev. Ken Helms officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

On March 19th, the G.I. Joe’s Vietnam War Veterans sat down at the LCCOA Senior Center as they provided them with the long-overdue "welcome home". Elijah Ray Heath, beloved son of Cannon Ray Heath and Meghan Quinn Elmore Heath, entered into the gracious love of his family on April 8, 2026. Though his love remains in their hearts, his presence departed all too quickly on April 14, 2026. The family will hold a private graveside service at Westview Cemetery.
(RALEIGH) Today Governor Stein announced that the N.C. Global TransPark, a 2,500-acre multimodal industrial park in Kinston, and the U.S. Navy have signed a 10-year agreement that will bring more than 400 jobs to eastern North Carolina. The N.C. Global TransPark will support maintenance and aircraft overhaul for the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), which provides fleet support to all branches of the U.S. Department of War.
As the school year comes to a close, the Teens Lead internship program is wrapping up after another successful year. While this was the first year the La Grange Public Library had a teen intern, the Neuse Regional Libraries have had multiple successful cohorts.
The La Grange Town Council unanimously approved a $950,000 Community Development Block Grant Neighborhood Revitalization Program agreement Monday night and authorized the mayor to execute the grant agreement and funding approval document on behalf of the town.
