Help Wanted: Public Health Nurse Supervisor

The Health Department is seeking candidates for a Public Health Nurse Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate CD/TB/HIV/STD programs. This position will schedule clinics and provide educational and assessment needs for these clinics. This position will ensure program guidelines are met and initiate changes and/or new programs in a timely manner. This position will provide assessment on maternity, family planning, sexually transmitted disease, and cancer detection.

This position provides care and education according to assessment need; provide assessments on Adult Health Clinic patients; be a proficient user in and have a good understanding of NCEDSS, NCIR and Patagonia and also understand how they function in each program; give adult/child immunizations; and serve as a resource to patients and community partners. The PHN III is responsible for the quality of the health care delivered to the patients served by the agency.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing/one year of experience

• License/Certification required by North Carolina Board of Nursing

• Possess considerable knowledge of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques

• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

• Pass a background check
