Prayers have been answered! With the help of Mark Dove and the LCSPCA team, a rescue has been found for Duplin. The rescue has a certified canine behavioralist who works with feral dogs. A Jacksonville man was arrested Friday night by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies after returning to the scene of where he broke into the day before.
KPD Officers are currently attempting to identify the subject in the photo. This incident is related to the offender taking a woman's purse.
Officers on KPD's D-Squad were searching the area of the 1300 block of W Washington Avenue for a report of shots fired.
The Kinston Driver License Office located at 2214 West Vernon Avenue posted the following on their NC DMV Website: This office will suspend road skills testing each day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19 due to road construction in the area of the office location. Both walk-in and appointments for the road skills testing are available during the 7:00 am - 11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Marvin Gilbert Vick, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024. The memorial service will be held at Wrightsville United Methodist Church, 4 Live Oak Drive, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00AM, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
The saga of Duplin, also known as the dog with a jug on his head, appears to be coming to an end if a post on social media is to be believed. The post announced the dog’s imminent euthanasia and was then shared with various news outlets, including ours. The outrage is building online as I type this. Unfortunately, the outrage is misplaced.
