SALUTE, the non-profit organization that runs the GI Joe Living History Museum and the Walk of Honor, began with an idea. The idea was to honor the veterans of Lenoir County for their sacrifices in defending the freedoms of America’s people.
Hosted by Greene Central, the Southeast regional HOSA Leadership Conference was held at the Greene County Wellness Center on October 19. The SE regional consists of nine counties. This conference was to offer opportunities to develop leadership skills as well as hear from candidates vying for leadership positions. Only ten delegates from each chapter, with three voting delegates, could attend the event.

On Sunday, October 29, the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church at 2600 Rouse Road, Kinston, NC beginning at 2:30 p.m. with a memorial service following in the sanctuary at 3:30 p.m.

The Jones County Hunters Association’s 2nd Annual Big Buck Bash will be held this weekend, October 27-28, at the Trenton Fairgrounds. This event benefits the community in many ways. The JCHA supports local schools with a Coats for Kids Drive at Christmas. They were able to deliver many gift bags full of coats to Jones County Schools last December.
