Lenoir County Sheriff’s office reported there was a Breaking and Entering on the 400 block Arron Johnson Road. Linda Liddell Pate was taken in custody on the scene. Curtis Liddell Pate fled the scene and was apprehended after a three-hour manhunt.

At around 2:40PM on 02/10/23 SHPD was dispatched to 416 Kingold Blvd. to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival SHPD officers, with the assistance of deputies from Greene County Sherriff's Office secured the scene and began an initial investigation.

Myra Jo Smith Price, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Phillips Family Cemetery in Trenton.

The Miss Neuse Scholarship Pageant Organization is pleased to announce the 2023 pageant will be held February 25 at Kinston Lenoir County Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00 p.m. Reid Taylor will serve as director for the 44th year. Mandy Odom is the choreographer and Diane Howard serves as Pageant Chairperson.
Last year, Sandra and I celebrated our Golden Anniversary. The next day, we started on the path that would take us to number 51. If we both live until Saturday, we should achieve that goal.

The Golden LEAF Foundation Board of Directors announced a grant award of $1 million to Lenoir Community College for training equipment and professional development to support aviation programs and a new Aviation Center for Excellence at the North Carolina Global TransPark.
Lenoir County Master Gardener Association (LCMGA) held their annual Awards and Achievement Banquet on December 13, 2022. Eight Master Gardeners (MGs) received a watering can pin for their first year of service, this included Nick Augostini, Sally Durst, Dirk Griffith, Rebecca Hill, Wanda Hill, Debbie Jones, Barbara Sykes, and Sandra Warren.
