On Monday, 02/06/2023 around 1:30 am Greene County Deputies conducted a vehicle stop in Snow Hill. K9 Sasha was deployed during the stop and upon her alerting on the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 24 grams of methamphetamines.

On Tuesday, students from Lenoir County Public Schools system participate in a full day focused on science starting with a presentation by scientists from UNC's Morehead Planetarium, coaching sessions from local science fair facilitators, and the public spotlight in the evening. Regina Carol Whaley Stallings, 64, of Seven Springs, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. Gilbert Rhodes Willard, 74, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Kinston, North Carolina after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Gordon Street Christian Church, 118 East Gordon Street, Kinston, North Carolina 28501. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
A woman has been arrested after being charged with having sexual relations with a minor that she had helped run away from Kinston’s Nova Behavioral Healthcare.
In previous years, the Needs-Based Public School Capital Fund Fund Grant structure prohibited Lenoir County Public Schools from using both lottery funds and grant funds to replace E.B. Frink Middle School. It required all districts who were awarded the grants to return all lottery funds for the period of the grant. In LCPS’s case, it was five years.

Upon arrival officers located several shell casings and discovered that an occupied residence had been struck by gunfire.
