Kinston woman arrested; charged with sexual relations with a minor

KINSTON — A woman has been arrested after being charged with having sexual relations with a minor that she had helped run away from Kinston’s Nova Behavioral Healthcare.

Therese Dominique Dove of Kinston was taken into custody at her home on Tuesday after a Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed she had helped a 17-year-old run away from Nova, where Dove was employed. The teenager had been reported as a runaway to the LCSO on Friday, Feb. 3 by Nova.

The LCSO investigation also revealed that Dove and the 17-year-old had a sexual relationship while the juvenile was staying at her home.

Dove was taken into custody and charged with two counts of sexual activity by custodian.
