According to multiple sources, former NC House Representative and Lenoir County Chairman George Graham has passed away. Graham was born on February 16, 1949. He was 73. Graham served as a member of the NC House from 2013 through 2018 and served the citizens of Lenoir County for over 30 years on the board of commissioners.
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. Vidant Health is participating in the ERASE MM program (Enhancing Reviews and Surveillance to Eliminate Maternal Mortality). “I gave birth” bracelets are given to all birthing persons delivered in all Vidant Health birthing facilities. On Friday, May 13, 2022, at approximately 6:29 pm officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue in reference to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers located a 17 year old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
If owner Jim Capps wouldn’t have lost his job 25 years ago, Capps Trailers would not be celebrating a quarter century in business. He set up shop at a desk inside his father’s business, and found his way into the trailer business. Today he offers a wide range of boat, utility, and equipment trailers.
Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram and the Lenoir County Manager Michael James were unable to come to a consensus on how to purchase an armored vehicle for the county. Previously the county voted to approve the purchase with the understanding that the county manager and the sheriff would work together figuring out how to pay for it.

Greene Early College 2017 alumni, Shontia Blount, marks a first in GEC’s history; she returned to her alma mater to join the teaching staff. After graduating from GEC and LCC with her Associate’s in 2017, Ms. Blount completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fayetteville State University in 2020. Returning to GEC, she began her teaching career.

The Project describes the special education programs that Lenoir County Public Schools proposes for Federal funding for the 2022-2023 School Year. Interested persons are encouraged to review amendments to the Project and make comments concerning the implementation of special education under this Federal Program.
