All in Around Town

Yes, Kinston, there is a Santa Claus

It appears quite clear that the magic of the holiday season is alive and well in Kinston! While people young and old alike begin to decorate and donate and come together to spread cheer and fund needs in our community, we may just see Santa Claus through their actions!

In these photos, you will see some disturbing images of this town which sits near Wallace and Chinquapin. I saw anything from cows to dead chickens floating around. So many people lost so much. The most interesting images were the ones of the cows on the front porch of one of the homes that sits right off Highway 41. It’s going to be a long road ahead in terms of recovery but I am confident they will rebuild.

As the Neuse River begins to crest at its third highest point in history, the Neuse News team continues to share the important work of our emergency services teams. Special thanks to the Kinston Police Department and North Carolina National Guard for allowing us to tell our community’s story of survival, strength, determination and hope.
