Ruby Estelle Morton Pittman, 95, of Atlantic Beach formerly of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at The Landings of Swansboro. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Garner Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin after the visitation with Pastor Chris Truett officiating. The burial will be held following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
Timmy “Tim” Rick Colie, 66, quietly departed this life for life eternal on Tuesday evening, April 16, 2024. A service of love and remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, 2024 with Pastor Linda Grider officiating. Committal with military honors will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Susan Fort Fox, age 69, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Duke Hospital. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Kinston, NC on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 2pm. Reception to follow in Moseley Hall.
Gregory Allen Dail, 69, of North Topsail Beach, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston.
Melissa Kay Sanderson, 40, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 7PM at Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, 4568 NC-55, Kinston, NC 28504. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
William “Billy” McLawhorn, 76, of La Grange passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, in New Bern. Services are private.
Betty N. McDevett, 89, of Kinston passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aprill 11, 2024, following a decline with her health. Services were private.
Bucklesberry-Ruth Ellen Sutton Hooten, 91, was welcomed home on Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024. A service of love and remembrance will be held at Hickory Grove Church of Bucklesberry at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024 with Rev. Robert Flynn and Rev. Norma Walters officiating. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to service in the Fellowship Hall. Committal will follow at the Sutton Family Cemetery on Sutton-Hooten Road.
Susan Bouchard, 62, born October 24, 1961 loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 am in the Edwards Funeral Chapel.

Loretta Loftus Morgan, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Stephanie Ezzell passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 at her home in Raleigh North Carolina, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, March 25 at Highland Baptist Church, 8524 Crowder Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 before the service at the church. The burial will take place at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Robert J. Jeffcott, a resident of Seagrass Village in Gulf Shores, and previous longtime resident of Kinston, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the age of 94. Funeral arrangements will be private. To honor Bob’s memory, he requested his friends and family to offer instrumental lessons to young students. Music enriched his life, and he passed on this passion to his grandchildren and would like this tradition to continue with others.

Ruby Frances Davis Allison, age 90, left this earth in the early morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Spring Arbor of Kinston following a brief illness. A service to celebrate Frances’ life will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, March 16th, at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. H. Powell Dew, Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends and extended relatives immediately following the service at the church.
