Marie Ewell Spears passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at ECU Medical Center at the age of 97. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, 2 pm at Westview Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Command Sergeant Major James H. “Tom” Parham, 88, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held on Good Friday, April 7. Visitation will begin at 11 am at Howard Carter Funeral Home. Service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Dave Fishman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Westview Cemetery immediately follow the funeral service.
Mrs. Annette Louise Tixier West, 78, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Kinston, NC passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on April 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Gordon Street Christian Church in Kinston (118 East Gordon Street) with the Rev. Doug Stokes officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
David Lee Mooring, 66, of Kinston passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. Funeral will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at North Lenoir High School Auditorium with Bishop Jeff Howard officiating. Visitation will follow the funeral. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Westview Cemetery.
Linda Elaine Oliver Peace, 69, of Kinston, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at her home. Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
Joseph Lea Callaway, 57, died on March 7, 2023, at his home in Kinston, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 25, 2023, at Gordon Street Christian Church, (118 E. Gordon Street). Betsy A. Barbee passed away at home on March 20, 2023. Her First Presbyterian Church family was very important to her and a memorial service will be held at the church on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. At other times the family will be at the home of Morry and Leigh.
Philip Michael Decker, age 70, of Kinston, NC passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, 840 West Main Street, Beulaville, NC 28518. A celebration of Phil’s life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Community Funeral Home in Beulaville with Rev. Greg Kincaid officiating. Interment will follow at East Duplin Memorial Gardens.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 2 PM at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston.

Larry Lee Howard, 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11am in the Mark Smith Cemetery in Deep Run. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Ms. Dianne Sutton Bradicich, age 74, passed away Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023, at her home in Lenoir County. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 19th, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Hank Jarman officiating. Interment will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Kinston. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ms. Bradicich.
