Officers on B-Squad were searching the area of Orion Street and Chestnut Street for a 16 year old juvenile that had been reporting missing. Officers located the juvenile and served an outstanding secure custody order. The juvenile was also in possession of a concealed firearm at the time he was located. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for the secure custody order and officers will follow up with Juvenile Justice for additional charges for Carrying Concealed Gun & Possession of a Handgun by a Minor.
Officers from KPD's D-Squad conducted a traffic stop with Tavon Copeland (28 of Greenville, NC) on Cunningham Road/Hwy 11. During the traffic stop officers conducted a probable cause search and located a concealed firearm. Copeland was arrested without incident and placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond for the following:

KPD's A-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Hines Avenue & Vernon Avenue with Brittany Futrell (34 of Hugo NC) after she called 911. During the traffic stop officers placed a tire deflating device under the tires due to Futrell's actions that led officers to believe she was going to flee.
