The City of Kinston collaborated with partners to create a Master Plan for Emma Webb Park, addressing flooding impacts and incorporating community input. The renovation includes walking trails, an amphitheater, basketball courts, a splash pad, and an enhanced playground area.
What should an educational experience look like? Is to be contained within four (4) walls of a classroom or can it be conducted in the natural environment of the outdoors? There is an argument to be made that both spaces can work in conjunction with each other. The broader questions asked here is what has given rise to the idea of an outdoor classroom for E. B. Officers from A-Squad responded to the area of E New Bern Rd for a subject causing a disturbance with a firearm. Officers located the offender a short distance from the area with assistance of witnesses. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the offender, Chuck Griffin.

This is an update to the death of a child that occurred in Lenoir County on Nov. 26, 2022. On Friday, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Brittany Evon Strickland, 32, and Michelle Evon Strickland, 50, both of Jackson County.
On Saturday, the CSS Neuse Museum staff will be holding an antique roadshow event at the museum. The staff can’t place value on the items, but the staff will be there to help identify any old antiques you may be wondering what they are. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m.

The Down East Wood Ducks will host this year’s Kinston-Lenoir Battle of the Badges on August 19th-20th, 2023. This two-day softball tournament will be held at Historic Grainger Stadium beginning at 8 am on Saturday.
Officers from C-Squad encountered Jarviel Johnson (23) during a narcotic investigation. During the encounter, Officers located a concealed firearm, During the discovery of the firearm, Johnson began actively resisting. Johnson was arrested and placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
