Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. A car show is planned for June 17 at Lenoir Community College to benefit 2-year-old Colby Clayton of La Grange who has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive Retinoblastoma, cancer of the eye. The benefit will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with prizes awarded at 2:30 p.m.
A male inmate currently being held at Kinston’s W.E. Billy Smith Detention Center and a Rocky Mount woman not in the jail have had warrants sworn against them for felony conspiracy to smuggle narcotics into the facility, among other charges.
