Officers arrived on scene a located a 16 y/o male juvenile that had succumbed to injuries received as the result of a gun shot wound. At this time, the information of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family members.
A man suspected of multiple larcenies at two Speedway convenience stores in Lenoir County has been arrested and is in custody in Greene County on unrelated charges. Douglas Suggs, 39, was identified and taken into custody by officers with the Kinston Police Department after the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the community.
Detectives with the narcotics unit of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office arrested Kinston resident, Raeford Gerald Quinn, on Friday for drug charges and an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine. During a search of his residence, Quinn was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and was subsequently processed for the warrant and received new charges.
On Feb. 28, March 10, March 13 and March 15, a male entered convenience stores in the southern portion of Lenoir County and stole items from those stores.
Calvin Holloway III, a 20-year-old from Kinston, has been arrested for stealing a vehicle and damaging a business property. L.J. Electrical Company's fence was damaged after Holloway allegedly drove the stolen vehicle through it. He faces multiple charges, including felony larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle.
On March 7th, KPD's Violent Crime Action Team located and apprehended a wanted fugitive, Alvion Burney, with the assistance of the NC SBI and KPD's D-Squad.

On March 8th, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department were conducting proactive traffic enforcement in the area of Vernon Ave. Kinston, N.C. when officers noticed a black in color Nissan being operated with a fictitious registration and illegal window tint.

SHPD located the vehicle involved in the shooting that occurred on 02/10/2023 on Hull Road. After a thorough investigation Officers developed a suspect and were able to positively identify the juvenile responsible for this crime.
