Officers with the Kinston Police Department have been investigating a series of vandalisms at Art 105, 105 W. Blount St., Kinston. The most recent incident occurred on February 13, 2023, that involved someone breaking the windows to the business.

Breaking and entering leads to two in custody after three hour manhunt
Lenoir County Sheriff’s office reported there was a Breaking and Entering on the 400 block Arron Johnson Road. Linda Liddell Pate was taken in custody on the scene. Curtis Liddell Pate fled the scene and was apprehended after a three-hour manhunt.
Snow Hill Police Department investigating silver sedan following Friday shooting
At around 2:40PM on 02/10/23 SHPD was dispatched to 416 Kingold Blvd. to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival SHPD officers, with the assistance of deputies from Greene County Sherriff's Office secured the scene and began an initial investigation.
Greene County K9 alert leads to Drug Arrest
On Monday, 02/06/2023 around 1:30 am Greene County Deputies conducted a vehicle stop in Snow Hill. K9 Sasha was deployed during the stop and upon her alerting on the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 24 grams of methamphetamines.
Two arrested in execution of warrant by KPD and LCSO
Two men were arrested — one on multiple drug charges — following the execution of a search warrant in the 600 block of Darden Drive in the Meadowbrook neighborhood.

Third update to Friday shooting in La Grange
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for the shooting that occurred on Cypress Grove Dr. La Grange on Friday, Feb. 3.
Another downtown business impacted by area vandalism
Another building was vandalized in downtown Kinston. Art 105, located next to the Arts Council on Blount Street had the glass to an exterior door smashed.

On Monday, January 16th, 2023, at approximately 10:00 pm members of the Kinston Police Department were called to the report of shots fired on the 2100 block of West Rd. Kinston, N.C. Upon arrival officers located several shell casings and discovered that an occupied residence had been struck by gunfire.
Juvenile taken into custody in reference to Friday shooting in La Grange
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Kinston Police Department, took a juvenile into custody Monday evening in reference to the shooting in La Grange on Friday. “The Kinston Police Department played an instrumental role in taking him into custody,” said Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers.

Please be cautious and do proper research before purchasing any services.
KPD seeks public assistance in identifying subject of financial card crime
The Kinston Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance regarding a possible financial card crime. On January 21, 2023, the subject in the photo used a financial card at EZ Pass Tobacco & Vape located at 701 Phillips Road in Kinston.
KPD and SBI locate wanted fugitive out of Greensboro
On February 3, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department's VCAT unit and the NC SBI, tracked and located a wanted fugitive out of Greensboro, NC.
KPD provides case update on January shooting
On Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, warrants were obtained for Shy’qim Hooker, 22, of Kinston for his involvement in Saturday’s shooting incident. Hooker was arrested on Friday, February 3rd, 2023, without incident and charged with Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling and Attempted Murder. He has been placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
Drug trafficking investigation leads to arrest
On Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department’s Violent Criminal Action Team (VCAT) and Narcotics Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office concluded a three month drug trafficking investigation.

Lenoir County Sheriff's office assists Greene County with fraud arrests
On 01/24/2023, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with apprehending two suspects in a Greene County Fraud case. 52 year old Richard Moore and 45 year old Kimberly Matthews, both of Kinston, were taken into custody in Lenoir County by Deputies after Greene County Investigators received information about their location.
