The Color Your World Summer Reading Program is wrapping up at the Pink Hill Public Library after a very successful six weeks. We have seen an increase in participation this year with over 350 attendees at our weekly youth and monthly adult programs. Participants met weekly to engage in color-inspired art, cooking, and gaming activities.
The La Grange Public Library, a member of Neuse Regional Libraries, has been selected as one of 240 libraries to participate in Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.
Libraries are more than just places to check out books, especially in small towns like Pink Hill. The Etta Jones Turner Public Library (Pink Hill Public Library) has served as a community center since 1984 .

These are just a few of the things that we sometimes take for granted as always being there, but are a major struggle for others to obtain. There are people each day at our public library looking for assistance with these basic needs, and sometimes it can be difficult for them to find the right resource.
