Help wanted: Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library- Library Assistant II, Youth Services Department

Job Class: Part-time (up to 29 hours per week)

Rate of Pay and Benefits: Beginning pay grade $12.50 an hour, paid vacation and sick leave after introductory period and membership in NC Retirement System.

Education and/or Other Requirements: Prefer two-year college degree with relevant work experience, or high school diploma with relevant work experience.

Job Duties:

• Work collaboratively with other members of the Library staff to generate program ideas and coordinate development of activities that support literacy and creativity.

• Prepare and merchandise library displays and market library through social media platforms.

• Provide friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful library services to our patrons while working the public desk.

• Assist with Youth Services programming. This could include STEM programs and outreach visits within the community.

• Ensure all policies and procedures of the Neuse Regional Libraries are followed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
