Kinston police report arrests in weekend enforcement activity

July 27, 2026, at 3:48 PM, KPD officers responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers learned that 39-year-old Jennifer Wilson had been involved in the disturbance but had already left the area.

A short time later, officers located Wilson and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Wilson failed to stop and continued driving before eventually pulling over.

Wilson was taken into custody and charged with:

Misdemeanor Flee to Elude Arrest

Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign

Driving the Wrong Way on a One-Way Street

Wilson remains in the custody of the Lenoir County Jail.

On July 23, 2026, Kinston Police officers responded to a residence in the Carver Courts neighborhood following a reported armed robbery and burglary.

As the investigation progressed, detectives obtained arrest warrants for 34-year-old Cray Jones of Grifton on the following charges:

- First-Degree Burglary

- Second-Degree Kidnapping

- Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon

- Felony Conspiracy

- Interfering with Emergency Communications

- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

On July 24, 2026, officers located Jones and attempted to take him into custody. During the incident, Jones bumped into a Kinston Police vehicle with his vehicle before being apprehended.

At the time of his arrest, Jones was found to be in possession of narcotics and was additionally charged with:

- Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine

- Maintaining a Dwelling for the Use, Storage, or Sale of a Controlled Substance

-Possession of a Controlled Substance Within 1,000 Feet of a Child Care Center

Jones was also served with unrelated outstanding warrants from Lenoir County charging him with Assault, Burglary, Kidnapping, Robbery, and Felony Conspiracy

Friday, July 24

โ€ข 7:38 PM - A motor vehicle crash investigation led to the arrest of 48-year-old Melvin Smith for Driving While Impaired.

Saturday, July 25

โ€ข 12:51 AM - A traffic stop led to the arrest of 36-year-old Vonderrick Parker for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

โ€ข 6:29 PM - A traffic stop led to the arrest of 42-year-old Andrea Hill for Possession of Fentanyl, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia.

โ€ข 8:58 PM - A traffic stop led to the arrest of 40-year-old Demario Eiland for Possession of Ecstasy and Marijuana.

Sunday, July 26

โ€ข 12:14 AM - A traffic stop led to the arrest of 42-year-old Monica Smith for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
