Obituary: Annette Lowery Daughety
Annette Lowery Daughety, 75 of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Annette was born on June 27, 1950, to W. W. “Skin” and Jeanette Lowery. Annette married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. “Bobby” Daughety on June 22, 1969.
She was a beautician for five years, and Secretary Treasurer at the family’s business, Daughety’s Office Equipment Inc. in Kinston for 32 years.
Annette was a lifelong member of Shady Grove Church; she loved the Lord and her church family was an extension of her own. Annette was an integral supporter of church outreach programs including Easter and Christmas dramas. She, her husband, and their son founded the Race of Faith, a fundraiser to further cystic fibrosis research, hosted annually at Shady Grove Church. With an average of 165, Annette traveled across the country for several years competing in the Women’s Bowling League. Kind-hearted and caring, Annette had a generous soul, she believed in simplicity, and she spoke with an honest candor that was appreciated by her loved ones. Annette’s life was centered around her greatest joy, her only son, “Robby D”. Alongside being a loving mother, she cared for him with unwavering strength and dedication throughout his battle with cystic fibrosis.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robby Lee Daughety, her brother, Woodrow Wilson Lowery Jr, her parents, W. W. “Skin” and Jeanette Lowery.
Annette is survived by her husband, Bobby Daughety; her sister Jan Hontz (Lloyd); granddaughter Olivia Lisewski, great grandchildren, Luke, Wyatt, and Robbie Lynn; nieces and nephews Lynn Whaley, Jim Daughety, Woody Daughety, Crystal Rice, Layne Lowery, Laura Arena, and Erin Espigh.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 on April 4, 2026, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 at Shady Grove Church on Middle Road in Kinston. Internment will take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston at 3:00. Pastors Greg Dickerson and Tim Nichols will preside.
