Kinston Police Arrest Suspect Following Breaking and Entering
On April 27, 2026, at approximately 10:07 a.m., KPD’s D-Squad responded to a report of a breaking and entering on the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and conducted a K9 track, which led them to 29-year-old Darrell Wayne. Wayne denied involvement in the breaking and entering; however, he was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant for arrest.
During the investigation, a witness to the incident positively identified Wayne as the individual responsible for the breaking and entering. In addition to the outstanding warrant, Wayne was charged with Breaking and Entering.
Wayne remains in custody at the Lenoir County Jail at the time of this release.
